A total of eight vehicles were involved in the accident while the road remained closed for the debris to be cleared.

On Monday, January 17 the Northsider received reports of an accident that involved a 5 ton truck and eight vehicles at the notorious Doreen Road.

It is reported that the truck came down Doreen towards Hendrik Potgieter Road and when the brakes failed the driver skipped the traffic light and crashed into two vehicles.

An eye witness said that the truck went into oncoming traffic and crashed into several vehicles head on.

Fortunately there were no fatalities and those injured were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

A total of eight vehicles were involved in the accident while the road remained closed for the debris to be cleared.

Motorists are advised to avoid the intersection of Lawrence and Doreen Road due to the multi vehicle accident scene.

At this stage no further information is available and Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) is on scene to investigate the accident.
