One person airlifted after Muldersdrift shooting

An unknown number of suspects opened fire at a liquor store in Muldersdrift where one person sustained a gunshot wound.

One person sustained a gunshot wound to the chest on December 30 in Muldersdrift.

According to Kyle van Reenen from Emer-G-med, at around 13:00 they responded to a shooting incident at a liquor store on Drift Boulevard.

“On arrival on scene a male who is approximately 50 years old, was found to have suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was in a critical condition,” Van Reenen explained.

With the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter the patient was airlifted to a nearby hospital for further definitive care.

Police were on the scene and an investigation is currently underway.
