‘What a year it has been!’

In a year that has been unlike any other we have ever experienced, I am very grateful for how our community, hospitals, schools, police and CPF have responded.
To say that 2021 has been a unique year would be an understatement. The last 12 months have been a challenge for many of us, the likes of which we never could have predicted, but amid the challenges we faced have been victories and accomplishments to look back on and celebrate.
It was heart-warming for me as a community newspaper journalist to see how well the Roodepoort community managed the human, social and economic dimensions of this year and stood up for each other as best as they could, within the constraints that we faced over the course of the year.
On behalf of the Roodepoort Northsider, I would like to thank you for helping make 2021 a triumphant year.
