Roodepoort — Each year the Roodepoort Rugby Club hosts an year-end awards function as a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all their successes of the year.
On Thursday, December 9 the Roodepoort Rugby Club held their annual awards function at Ramkiki Restaurant, Conferences & Weddings.
The event was officiated by the new chairperson Theuns Naudé, and the chairperson for events, René Benjamin.
Poorte eighth man Ruan du Toit’s appetite for tries made him stand out this season, and for the second consecutive year he was named Roodepoort's Rugby Player of the Year.
Former chairperson Mathys Booyens handed the final award of the evening, the Chairman’s award, to Dennis Armstrong for his outstanding contribution to the club and for always going the extra mile.
Young backline sensation Tiaan Naudé was named the Backline Player of the Year, while Barend Steyn was named the Forward Player of the Year.
