25 people taken to hospital after bus accident between Rand Leases and Meadowlands

Only two patients treated for moderate injuries

The dangers of wet weather driving were clearly illustrated on Thursday morning.

A bus has collided with a light motor vehicle on a road linking Rand Leases to Meadowlands on December 2.

Over 20 people have been injured in the collision along Dobsonville Road near the Marie-Louise landfill. First responders arrived on scene at roughly 8:00, to find that all the passengers had removed themselves from the bus.

Fortunately, only two passengers had suffered moderate injuries, with the rest only indicating minor injuries.

“Nineteen patients were treated and transported to hospital by provincial EMS, and six were treated and transported by ER24 to a private hospital in the area for further care,” confirmed ER24’s Ross Campbell. Fortunately, the driver of the light motor vehicle escaped the incident unharmed.
