FWC Hospice an accredited collection point for government-issued medication

Eligible patients can collect their diabetes, hypertension, ARVs and other chronic medication for free once they are registered on the Centralised Chronic Medication Dispensing and Distribution programme (CCMDD).

The FWC Hospice Care Centre in Hurst Hill has now been identified as a collection point for government-issued medication, saving the patient time, reducing transport costs and avoiding the long queues at clinics and hospitals.

Eligible patients can collect their diabetes, hypertension, ARVs and other chronic medication for free once they are registered on the Centralised Chronic Medication Dispensing and Distribution programme (CCMDD).

When they next visit the clinic or doctor, patients are advised to ask their healthcare professional to register them on the CCMDD system, indicating FWC Hospice as their collection point.

If successfully registered, patients will get an SMS when their parcel is ready. An identification document and CCMDD Collection Card will be needed when medication is collected.

After six months, the patients need to visit their clinic to get checked and have their scripts renewed.

Patient can also nominate two people, such as family members, to collect their medication. This is useful for older people, patients who are not mobile, and those with weaker immune systems who may be in isolation due to their increased risk of Covid-19 infection.

FWC Hospice is situated on the corner of Harmony and Retief Streets in Hurst Hill.
