Charter College saves lives with blood drive

Teachers and Grade 10, 11 and 12 learners donated blood during the blood drive.

Senior learners at Charter College stepped out of the classroom to donate blood.

The Grade 10s, 11s and 12s participated in the blood drive.

According to the South African National Blood Service, one unit of blood can save a minimum of three lives. Donors need to be over 16 years and weigh over 50kg.

The blood drive was important for the learners to realise the importance of donating blood, and how this ripples to people who desperately rely on blood donors.

The drive was organised by Claire Bennett and run by Kirsty Ledsham, who said they normally have the blood drive four times a year.
