Should it not be bolted down then the potential exists for opportunists to remove and redistribute.
The items on the list of strange objects to be stolen out of a backyard continues to grow. A resident of a property along Corlett Avenue has had a swimming pool taken for her backyard. The medium-sized above-ground plastic inflatable was taken on the afternoon of September 9, while visiting a neighbour. “We actually laughed at first but I mean what’s next?” said Melissa Miller.
The pool was drained first before hauled away, and should the new owners wish to use it for its intended purpose, they may not be enjoying too many afternoon splashes. “It was only half full because there was a leak,” added Melissa.
The alleged theft was not reported to police but residents are urged to be more vigilant in the lead-up to the festive season and the inevitable spike in common thefts.
