Roodepoort Athletics Club calls on running community to hit the tarmac in spring
5km and 10km runs on every Saturday and Sunday in September
Roodepoort Athletics Club is calling on the road running community to support their 2021 Spring Virtual Runs. The five or 10km runs can be done virtually but will also include in-person runs held at Northgate Mall for those who wish to share the joys of running with other athletes.
The virtual run will be held every Saturday and Sunday in September from 7:00 to 9:00. A clearly marked out route will begin at Northgate’s entrance four, but runners are free to follow whichever course they wish. This is not an official race so it will have no official times, no water points and no marshals on the route. Covid regulations will be enforced so masks are mandatory when not running, and social distancing of 1,5m is encouraged.
The entry fee for the 10km run is R80 which includes a buff and Wimpy coffee voucher, while the 5km run is R40 including the Wimpy voucher. The goodie bags and vouchers can be collected at Northgate’s entrance four between the 7:00 and 9:00.
