Charity ride for mental wellness

This year will be no exception as The Bell of Hope Charity Ride for Mental Wellness will be held in October.

Each year the Ebenezer Psychiatric Home hosts a road cycle event known as the Bell of Hope Charity Ride for Mental Wellness.

This year will be no exception as the Charity Ride will be held on Sunday, October 24 at Valverde Country Hotel in the Cradle of Humankind.

This home is a licensed non-profit organisation taking care of fully functional adults suffering from bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. They depend on donations and assistance from the public and corporate sectors to keep the home open and functional.

The event is expected to start at 07:00 for the 50km route and costs R200 per cyclist. The starting time for the 15km route is 08:00 and costs R150 per cyclist. On the day, costs will be R250 per cyclist.

According to event organiser, Kerry von Buddenbrock, the proceeds of this event will go towards sustaining the Ebenezer Psychiatric Home.
