Sort out your affairs for free

Attorneys and financial consultants will be offering their services for free by assisting residents with their wills.

Lawyers and financial consultants will be providing crucial advice and services at the upcoming Living Will and Testament Drive at the Phelindaba Chambers on August 28. Far too many people leave their final wishes and possessions to chance by not having a will or their set of wishes in place before their death. The services will be provided to residents for free.

In the era of Covid-19, death has unfortunately become everyone’s familiar thief. A lot people pass away suddenly or are incapacitated without having their affairs in order. When you die without having made a will, the family left behind is usually left with years of administrative and financial burdens to wind up your estate.

Ward 89 councillor, Amelia Bester said, “I thought to launch the drive and put a call out on social media for attorneys and consultants to assist. We will have the drive for residents who prefer face-to-face meetings with these professionals. Apart from gaining valuable information, assistance will be given to draw up a will there and then.”

Anyone interested in the drive can send an SMS to the councillor on 072 472 419. The drive will be from 9:00 to 14:00.
