Blanket drive for seniors in Video

The women from DAWN in Muldersdrift are kicking off Women’s Month with bundles of blankets for the elderly in Video informal settlement. It was a joint venture between DAWN, World Sports Betting, and Beanies for Beings to donate the much-needed blankets.

Shenan Cochran, who runs the DAWN group in Muldersdrift, said bringing happiness in the community is a privilege for them. “With Covid-19 a lot more senior citizens and pensioners are really battling to make ends meet at the end of each month, because the price of everything has gone up so exponentially during Covid. We managed to find sponsors for beautiful blankets and we handed them out to 60 senior citizens in the Video community.”
