Beauty comes with humanity
The pageant is a fundraiser for Role Models Foundation. As part of her philanthropic duties, Evangeline has been tasked with raising sponsorships for the charity.
Entrepreneur, marketing expert and organiser of the Women In Business networking events, Evangeline Solomons is not sleeping on her ambition. She recently became a finalist in the Mrs Johannesburg 2022 pageant. The Ruimsig resident was nominated by the current title holder. “I thought, ‘my dream is coming true’. I never thought I would make it into a pageant,” she shared her excitement.
The pageant is a fundraiser for Role Models Foundation, an NPO that works to create places of safety for those less advantaged through education and skills development. As part of her philanthropic duties, Evangeline has been tasked with raising sponsorships for the charity. She said philanthropy is not only a part of who she is but has been top of mind this year in particular.
“The Role Models Foundation is also heading the nationwide pageants, and I think they have a purpose to help the community. I need to raise R5 000 in order for votes to activate, and sponsors are welcome.” Evangeline said working in business, she knows that planning is crucial. “Planning, and in the interim, safety first. My entrepreneurship amplifies my experiences to take on this role and go for the jugular.”
As organiser of the Women In Business events, Evangeline has worked to bring small-scale women-led businesses together and create networks with each other. She said Mrs Johannesburg will bring new experiences within community activities. “I want to play a better role in the community to lead more young women and guide them to make a successful future; to be bold, brave and start new friendships; to learn from other women and inspire,” she shared her hopes.
