Police encourage community to report incidents

Reporting incidents also helps the local CPF to follow up on matters with the police if needed.

The Honeydew CPF has been made aware of incidents of robbery and assault in the Golden Harvest Park recently, and wishes to warn residents to be extra cautious.

Residents are urged not to walk alone in the park; rather try to walk in a group and do not carry valuables or a bag, if possible.

According to the Honeydew CPF, a perpetrator won’t know if there are valuables inside a bag and you could be targeted even though there is nothing of interest inside.

This type of incident does occur in other parks and open spaces across the city, and community members should apply the same measures when using any park or open space.

“Members of the public should report all incidents of this nature to the police, even if no valuables were taken.

The police cannot put resources into a particular area if they don’t have case numbers to show a crime trend or hotspot,” said Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan.

Reporting incidents also helps the local CPF to follow up on matters with the police if needed.
