Johannesburg Water (JW) has opened applications for a community liaison officer (CLO) on the Roodekrans Sewer Replacement Project.
The City of Joburg appointed JW to relocate some of the existing sewer lines inside residential properties in Roodekrans to the road reserve.

The project is set to run for 10 months and will be starting in the very near future – an official date has not yet been communicated, but as soon as it is, the Record will publish an update.

The CLO will be responsible for communication between the contractor and the community on any project-related matters. A successful applicant will have the ability to write and submit accurate reports to the contractor and Ward 83 councillor, Florence Roberts.

Other responsibilities for this position include assisting with the appointment of general workers and labourers, making references to a database of local resources, keeping the contractor and client aware of community affairs, reporting on dynamics, and assisting the contractor’s supervisory staff in the management of workers.

To apply for the CLO position, Joburg Water requires you meet the following criteria:
• Must have a Grade 12 qualification or higher
• Must have a good command of the English language
• You must be currently unemployed
• You must have extensive knowledge of Ward 83
• You must live within Ward 83 – this is non-negotiable and proof of residence is mandatory

Applications should be submitted by hand to the secretary in the ground floor reception area of the Roodepoort Civic Centre, 100 Christiaan de Wet Road, Florida. A certified copy of your ID, a printed or handwritten CV, and proof of address will be needed to apply.

Applications can be submitted on weekdays, not weekends, during the Civic Centre operating hours from 09:00 to 16:00. The deadline for applications is Thursday, June 17, at 12:00 midday.
