Cigarette truck hijacked then abandoned in Hamberg

No injuries sustained in the Thursday-morning incident

A truck transporting a large shipment of cigarettes was hijacked in the vicinity of Florida Lake on 20 May. Florida Police have yet to confirm the details of the incident; however, the eyes and ears of the Florida Community Policing Forum were able to shed light on the incident.

Based on information received from FCPF chairman, Prashan Sukhu, occupants of a silver Toyota Corolla hijacked the cigarette transporter and took the vehicle to a quiet street in Hamberg. There they emptied its contents before fleeing the scene in their silver sedan. No injuries were sustained by any of the hijacked vehicle’s occupants, and the public are asked to share any information they have of the incident with the Florida Police.
