What does your mom mean to you?

Lizz began by honouring the mothers who were not around anymore.

Whether you are a mother, guardian, mother-to-be or perform a maternal role in any shape or form, Sunday 9 May was dedicated to you. Garden World in Muldersdrift hosted a luncheon on Mother’s Day to celebrate the mothers in our lives and rub shoulders with actress Lizz Meiring.

Decked with soft fairy lights and enough bouquets to create a floral wonderland, the room was filled with duos or moms and daughters, husbands with the mothers of their children, and of course pet moms.

Lizz began by honouring the mothers who were not around anymore. She acknowledged that there were more than just traditional moms. “There are mom-dads, aunts, moms-to-be and pet moms. Mom, you are loving and you are loved. You are the presence in our lives that makes us who we are. Let’s remember that there are no perfect parents, just as there are no perfect kids.”

Before going around the room and asking each table to describe their mothers and what made them so loveable, she reminded everyone present that mothers are the ones who serve the community.
