Trial date set for Tshegofatso Pule murder case

When Shoba was asked if he will be continuing with his attorney at the trial he said he was not sure.

After a long wait at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on Monday, May 17, Nthuhuko Shoba was indicted and his trial has been set for May 28 at the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg, Soweto Urban reports.

Shoba, the alleged mastermind behind the murder of his former lover Tshegofatso Pule, is facing charges of murder, defeating the ends of justice and conspiracy to commit murder.

This comes after he was said to have hired Muzikayise Malephane to kill his girlfriend who was eight months pregnant last year.

His attorney requested to approach the court with new information about the case currently not on record but the Magistrate moved the case to May 18 due to a power outage.

Shoba will be kept at the Johannesburg prison throughout his trial and is not permitted to talk to the witnesses unless in court.

When Shoba was asked if he will be continuing with his attorney at the trial he said he was not sure.

The family expressed their satisfaction with the charges laid against Shoba and want to see him sent to prison.

Malephne who is already serving his 20-year sentence confessed to the crime and agreed to become a state witness.
