Residents of Discovery and surrounds are growing increasingly frustrated by the number of unplanned power interruptions in the area, especially recently.
Electricity in the Discovery area went out again on Friday morning, 14 May. While supply was restored to many households by yesterday evening (Sunday, 16 May) a few streets in the area are still in darkness.
City Power spokesperson, Isaac Mangena, said that a shortage of generators is what led to the partial restoration, adding that three generators were connected and are currently supplying power to the area.
The parts of Discovery that have not been restored as yet, can reportedly expect electricity by the end of business today, should everything go according to plan on site.
Work is currently under way to install the fourth generator that will supply the areas still affected by the outage.
Isaac said that new information would be communicated as and when it became available. Residents can keep updated through the City Power Twitter page, @CityPowerJhb, where regular updates will be posted.
