An armed robbery on Willem Road in Muldersdrift left one person dead. The incident took place on Tuesday, 4 May at around 11pm.
According to Sergeant Mulalo Ndou from the Muldersdrift Police, three people were walking in the street when they were approached by two armed men. “Firearms were pointed at the victims and they were instructed to lie down in the street. The robbers demanded money and cellphones, and then a shot went off.” Ndou said one person was hit in the upper body and taken to hospital for further care. Unfortunately she was certified dead on arrival.
The suspects have not been apprehended yet, and an investigation is under way.
