Paramedics hailed for attempt to save dog’s life

“You guys deserve a medal and a huge thank you; our dogs are like our children and losing a fur baby is hard no matter what. Thank you ER you are the best.”

On Monday, 3 May a dog was ejected from a vehicle that was involved in a collision on the N14 in Centurion and sustained critical injuries.

ER24 Emergency Services provided the dog with some pain relief medication and transported it to Muldersdrift Vet for further medical attention.

Unfortunately, very little could be done despite the best efforts of all personnel involved, and the dog succumbed to his injuries at the vet.

The vehicle was towing a trailer with wood when it collided with a bakkie, causing the trailer to jackknife.

The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries but declined to be transported to the hospital. Two dogs were travelling with him at the time of the incident, and the second dog was found to be unharmed.
