Brave dog attacked with panga is on the mend

Intruders broke into a house and Razor valiantly tried to protect his family; however, in the process he was violently attacked with a panga, leaving him badly injured.

On Monday, 3 May CLAW (Community Led Animal Welfare) took in their first patient of the day named Razor, who needed urgent surgery after being attacked by intruders at his home on Sunday night, 2 May.

Thugs broke into Daniel Morulele’s house, and Razor valiantly tried to protect his family; however, in the process he was violently attacked with a panga, leaving him badly injured.

According to Cora Bailey from CLAW, the brave dog was given pain medication upon arrival at their facility, and shortly after that he was taken into surgery.

“Surgery has to be prepped for, and there was no delay in helping this dog. These incidents happen regularly and we seldom share the graphic results, but awareness is also important, ” said Cora.

An update on Razor’s condition was available on Tuesday, 4 May and community members who followed Razor’s story on social media were relieved and thrilled to hear the good news that Razor is on the mend.

“The deep cuts on his chest, face, nose, lip and front left leg have been sutured, and he is on antibiotics and pain killers.

“Razor is such a good patient and while treating this boy, you can fully understand why he is so dearly loved by his owner. He is a lovely-natured dog and a true champion.

“We have received messages of concern, and people have been asking how they could help. Please, could we ask for help towards his medical costs? It would really assist us enormously,” said Cora.
