Another PRA clean-up for Welties

According to the PRA chairperson, David Baxter, the veld belongs to the Department of Education (DOE) and many calls to cut the grass have fallen on deaf ears.

On Saturday, 17 April the Panorama Residents Association (PRA) with assistance from AK Landscaping, Tree felling ZA and DP Metalworks embarked on yet another clean-up project within Weltevreden Park.

Having gained momentum from the previous clean-ups, the PRA focused on an open veld that had seen zero maintenance in a very long time.

According to the PRA chairperson, David Baxter, the veld belongs to the Department of Education (DOE) and many calls to cut the grass have fallen on deaf ears.

“Residents could not see past the long grass to enter a very busy street. Also posing a security risk, the grass had to be cut back five to 10 metres as criminals can hide in it and watch unsuspecting homeowners and domestic workers leaving their workplaces. We also picked up a huge amount of rubbish which was just thrown in the grass.

“We thank the three companies that have taken the time, at their own cost, to help the residents of Weltevreden Park yet again,” said David.

Members of the community and local businesses are encouraged to support those three companies that were involved as they also support the community.

Should any business or community members want to get involved, they can contact the PRA at info@panoramaRA.co.za.
