Business robbed while doing cash-up

A case has been opened at Honeydew Police Station, and the investigation continues. The cameras inside the shop were out of order.

Honeydew Police, Honeydew CPF and Victim Support responded to an armed robbery at Del Forno Pizza in the Ridge Terrace Complex at the corner of Jim Fouche Road and Without Avenue on Sunday evening, 4 April.

The cameras inside the shop were out of order.

It is alleged that the 50-year-old victim, Detter Schelless was with his three colleagues while he was cashing up at the business when two unknown men armed with firearms entered the shop.

They pointed the firearms at the victims and demanded money, subsequently robbing them of R4 000 cash, one laptop and four cellphones.

According to Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, the other two thugs were standing guard outside the shop, and they all fled the scene on foot. No one was injured.

“A case has been opened at Honeydew Police Station, and the investigation continues,” said Muthan.

All role players including Honeydew Police, Honeydew CPF and Honeydew Victim Support attended the scene to assist the victims.
