Featherbrooke Estate’s most senior resident celebrates in style

After presenting to him a bunch of balloons and a signed copy of his CD which he gifted to Ken, he then led the audience in a heartfelt rendition of the happy birthday tune.

Birthday celebrations provide an opportunity to honour the elderly and let them know that they are appreciated and valued in the community they live in.

Friday, 5 March marked the 97th birthday of Featherbrooke Estate’s most senior resident, Ken Mileman.

Ken is well known to Featherbrooke residents for his remarkable piano-playing skills, his love for walking around the beautiful Estate, for his keen interest in his friends and neighbours, for never missing a Matt Stern event, and for his deep love for family.

Matt is a South African singer, songwriter, actor and entertainer best known to television audiences for his role as villain Kurt Conradie on the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan from 2002 to 2004.

Ken’s birthday was celebrated at a Concert in the Park held for the enjoyment of residents and families at the Lapa lawn area in Featherbrooke Estate.

While Matt presented a magnificent show singing songs from his newly released album My World, he called Ken to the stage during his performance.

After presenting to him a bunch of balloons and a signed copy of his CD which he gifted to Ken, he then led the audience in a heartfelt rendition of the happy birthday tune.
