Jackal Creek Corner opens in Honeydew

Owing to the growing demand for residential properties and schools around Cosmo City and Northriding areas, this multi-million rand project was constructed to service that market.

At the beginning of 2019 Jackal Creek Corner Shopping Centre was just an approved plan and a site overgrown with grass and trees.

Fast-forward two years later, the convenient retail centre situated on the corner of Aureole and Boundary Roads in Honeydew near Jackal Creek Golf Estate opened its doors to customers for the very first time on Thursday, 25 February.

Owing to the growing demand for residential properties and schools around the Cosmo City and Northriding areas, this multi-million rand project was constructed to service that market.
The centre was developed by Abland and the company’s leasing and marketing director, Grant Silverman commented about the grand opening which had to be limited in size due to Covid restrictions.

“We are extremely excited that the centre is up and running, and is giving the community somewhere to shop. The centre is about 16 000m² big, providing space to national tenants from established brands, including MEAT WORLD, APPLE TREE and Pick n Pay,” he explained.

Another exciting aspect Silverman pointed out was that the centre managed to create employment.

In line with the Covid-19 regulations, Silverman told the Northsider that the centre had to implement Covid safety measures such as installing sanitizers in bathrooms, creating social distancing sketches, and also asking the tenants to affix posters to their shops to alert patrons about the restrictions in their respective trading centres.
