Chaos around the 14th Avenue N1 offramp has resulted in three men sustaining gunshot wounds in two separate, yet related incidents.
ER24 paramedics attended to a gunshot victim at a petrol station across from a high-end German car dealership on William Nicol Drive, Friday 26 February. A male believed to be in his 40’s was seated inside his vehicle, bleeding severely from the gunshot wound in his leg. “The man was treated and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to a nearby hospital,” confirmed ER24 Communications Officer, Russel Meiring.
The second shooting incident relates to a courier robbery that was caught on camera outside the offices of a telecommunications company. The incident has not been confirmed by police yet, but medics assisted two men with gunshot wounds in the basement of the 14th Avenue business. “Two men in their 30s were found in the basement and they were treated and transported to a nearby hospital for further care,” said Meiring.

Details have not been fully disclosed, but unconfirmed information from the scenes suggests the man at the petrol station was shot by the men fleeing the courier robbery scene a short distance away. Official comment from police will be published when it is forthcoming.
