Welties Christmas Lights House donates R32 000 to CANSA

“Thank you to each and every one of you who made a donation towards our fundraising for CANSA.”

Generosity is not solely based on one’s economic status, but instead, includes the individual’s pure intentions of looking out for society’s common good and giving from the heart.

It is the habit of giving without expecting anything in return. It can involve offering time, assets or talents to aid someone in need.

Wednesday, 3 February saw the Christmas Lights House Weltevreden Park owner, Gareth Lingens receive a Certificate of Appreciation from CANSA in acknowledgement that the Christmas Lights House paid R32 000 to CANSA in the past week.

“Thank you to each and every one of you who made a donation towards our fundraising for CANSA.

“A special thanks to OMSA Connect for the donation of glow sticks. Unfortunately we could not sell them at our Carols by Candlelight/ Glow stick event; however, we did manage to sell all of them in one week while the lights were on.

“Thank you to Gaby Adolphe, Robyn and Cameron Clark, and Megan Liddle for assisting us in selling the glow sticks in that week.

“Thanks too,to the young man, you know who you are, who donated a cash amount on Christmas Eve that was generous beyond description,” said Gareth.

During the festive season the community of the West Rand displayed a high level of generosity by visiting the house and making donations towards CANSA and the Community Support Services (CSS) Initiative.

“Once again thank you to each and every one of you who helped to raise much-needed funds for CANSA.

“In total we donated R32 000, and you have helped make so many people’s lives easier because of your generosity.

“Looking forward to seeing you all again later this year, with a brighter and better display. Wishing you all a year filled with much light and love,” said Gareth.
