Joburg Water call centre employees to resume duties after 10-day isolation period

The Joburg Water call centre employees will be returning to their duties starting tomorrow, Thursday, 14 January.

Residents throughout the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) municipal area have been struggling to get through to the Johannesburg Water call centre a lot more than usual lately.

The entity’s spokesperson, Isaac Dhludhlu, has confirmed that positive Covid-19 cases within the call centre meant that all employees were sent home for a 10-day isolation period.

Dhludhlu further confirmed that two of the employees were assigned to work from home and have been attending to all they can, but the situation has been extremely difficult.

While the first notifications from the entity about the temporary closure were released only on 8 January, the isolation period is almost at its conclusion. The Joburg Water call centre employees will be returning to their duties starting tomorrow, Thursday, 14 January.

Joburg Water apologised for any inconvenience, but understandably the lives and health of their staff were prioritised.

To contact the call centre and report any water-related issues, contact the City of Johannesburg call centre on 0860 562 874 and select option 3.
