Simple ways to log service issues

Residents were also advised to ensure that they get a reference number for any issue(s) logged with the City for tracking purposes.

It may be a new year but service delivery issues remain a major concern to most residents.

Usually, most residents rely on their councillors to escalate services issues that they feel have been ignored by entities of the City. However, with some councillors still on holiday, residents have been advised to log their queries using the following information:

Emergency
In case of an emergency or a by-law related issue contact the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) on 011 375 5911. Alternatively, contact the police on their hotline: 08600 10111.
For billing and disconnections:
Email: regionCrevenue@joburg.org.za; alternatively visit the Roodepoort Revenue Centre at 100 Christiaan De Wet Road. (Open from Monday to Friday between 8am to 3.30pm, and Saturday 8am to 12.30pm – NB: times may be affected by Covid).
Water (leaks, meters, sewerage)
– Log via email on customerservicesemail@jwater.co.za or call 0116881699
Electricity (outages, street lights, smart meters)
– Log online at citypower.mobi or the City Power app
Roads (potholes, street signs, sidewalks, storm water)
– Log via email on hotline@jra.org.za
