Writing to inspire and motivate

In the book, Patrick uses his personal experiences and accomplishments in hopes of inspiring others to take action and pursue their dreams despite what they think is holding them back.

It takes a lot of courage to turn your pain into an opportunity to help others, and the dedication and hard work it takes to do it properly is even more astounding.

Over the past 36 years of his life, Patrick Larry Kabamba has overcome more obstacles than he could have ever imagined. Even though he has become a successful charted accountant and dedicated family man, his achievements did not just fall in his lap, he worked for them. Growing up in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Patrick encountered countless obstacles on his journey to success, and now that he is happily living with his wife and daughter in Horison, he wanted to help others overcome what may be holding them back from realising their dreams.

This is why he wrote the book All the way up, Against all odds. In the book, Patrick uses his personal experiences and accomplishments in hopes of inspiring others to take action and pursue their dreams despite what they think is holding them back. “This book demonstrates that the only real obstacles are those placed by your own mindset,” said Patrick. He continued to say that the book contains more than 240 lessons to equip the reader to become a better version of him or herself.

The author used the lockdown to his advantage, taking the much-needed quiet time to finish his book, which he self-published on 25 October. Despite the many long hours he spent writing, his family was by his side through everything. “My wife and daughter were instrumental in the completion of this book. I am so grateful to have such a supportive family and I really want to say thank you to them,” he said.

While writing, Patrick had a young adult audience in mind, but he said that anyone who needs a little help with their ambition and motivation can read it, and hopefully learn from it.

“I strongly believe that the world is divided between those who have brilliant ideas but do not take any action, and those with fewer ideas who are willing to take action to pursue their dreams. I believe that only those who take action will succeed,” Patrick concluded.
