Florida Police have opened an inquest docket after a suspect died while attempting to escape capture. The suspect was one of two men believed to be involved in a housebreaking incident.

At roughly 2am on the morning of 6 December, a private security company was responding to a call in Rene Avenue. Reports suggest that the reaction officers apprehended one of the suspects at the scene, while the second made a frantic attempt to escape up a tree. One of them slipped between the branches and died instantly,” confirmed Florida Police spokesperson, Sergeant Mpho More. “An inquest docket has been opened and the incident is under investigation,” she concluded.
