Video: No means No campaign

Women most often get asked “But did you say no to him?”, and then the blame is pinned on her instead of the abuser.

Girl Guides South Africa (GGSA) youth’s ‘No Means No’ campaign video is aimed at addressing Victim Blaming for the 16 Days of Activism.

Girl Guides across the world are sending messages especially during this time, stating how to say NO, and offering help to girls and women.

“This video was made for this purpose, hoping that you can include it in all the Caxton social media pages, as Guiding is country-wide and world-wide,” said GGSA Communication and Marketing board member, Hilary White.

According to Hilary, women most often get asked “But did you say no to him?”, and then the blame is pinned on her instead of the abuser.

“Since we’re tackling ‘victim-blaming’, we want women and girls to know that however they choose to refuse the offender, they mean NO,” explained Hilary.
