Fibre installations under way in Fleurhof

The councillor sees these installations as a very positive stepping stone to further alleviating connectivity issues in the area.

Residents of the greater Fleurhof area have been advised that the Sisonke Telecoms teams will be in the area installing fibre from 23 November.

Ward 70 councillor, Caleb Finn, confirmed that the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has given Sisonke Telecoms permission to dig up large sections of pavements in Fleurhof in order to lay the fibre cables.

“Based on their explanation to me, their intention is to launch fibre-to-the-home within the Fleurhof area and the current installation is the first step towards bringing the infrastructure to all parts of Fleurhof,” Caleb explained.

The councillor sees these installations as a very positive stepping stone to further alleviating connectivity issues in the area.

Caleb concluded his statement by notifying residents that this venture is privately owned and funded, and no government funds are being used for the project, so if residents encounter any issues related to the digging, they are asked to contact Sisonke Telecoms directly.
