Honeydew Police creating a crime-free culture

Honeydew Police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan indicated that they had managed to close down 13 illegal shebeens in Cosmo City.

Honeydew Police have continued to clamp down on criminal activity in their precinct.

Prior to the conclusion of Heritage Month, the station’s members arrested 24 suspects in and around the area for crimes ranging from hijacking, fraud, assault and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, rape, robbery, possession of stolen property, shoplifting and dealing in liquor without a licence.

In addition to these arrests, Honeydew Police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan indicated that they had managed to close down 13 illegal shebeens in Cosmo City.

The highlight of this operation was the arrest of a 50-year-old woman and shutting down the illegal shebeen she had been running for the last 14 years.

Assuring safety in the area, Muthan said their Echo and Reaction Units are performing duties of a high standard both day and night to ensure the community’s safety.
