WATCH: Road-rage incident escalates with threats of violence

A witness to the late afternoon scuffle recounts that the occupants of two motor vehicles stopped at the Sasol garage on Progress Road after exchanging several verbal threats.

As temperatures rise across the city, so do the stress levels of those engaged in a hard day’s work. A snippet of a road-rage incident was caught on camera shortly after 4pm on Thursday, 10 September.

A witness to the late afternoon scuffle recounts that the occupants of two motor vehicles stopped at the Sasol garage on Progress Road after exchanging several verbal threats. The two groups of men were said to have begun their argument in the vicinity of Kingsley Street as a result of an apparent road-rage incident. Upon arriving at said petrol station, the argument caught on camera ensued.

The witness admits to being incredibly frightened and left the scene before the confrontation escalated into a full-blown brawl, so is unaware if the argument was resolved or not. Before leaving the scene, the witness claims that a larger group had begun to gather in defence of the men who were threatened by the shirtless, shovel-wielding aggressors.
