Support Matla A Bana this Mandela Day

"We are asking the community to use this opportunity to make a difference"

With Mandela Day, 18 July fast approaching, Matla A Bana’s project manager Lizel van Eeden has appealed to companies that wish to give back to the community, but have not planned any events or outreaches due to lockdown restrictions, to support their comfort pack projects for rape victims.

“We are asking the community to use this opportunity to make a difference. In the past, companies used this initiative as a team-building exercise for which they bought, packed and donated the required items to us. Some companies that didn’t have time to spare donated money to enable us to purchase what we need,” she explained.

This year, Matla A Bana is supporting the Gauteng Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit which is dealing with increased numbers of cyber and sexual offence cases that affect minors.
