New four-way stops in Florida

A number of requests have been submitted to the Johannesburg Roads Agency's (JRA) Traffic Engineering Section for traffic counts to be done at these intersections.

Residents of Florida should be aware of two road sign additions in their area.

The councillor for Ward 70, Caleb Finn said in a Facebook post yesterday, 23 June, “Residents should note that two new four-way stops are being erected in the Florida area, which are the intersection of The Highway Road and Sixth Avenue, as well as the intersection of The Highway Road and Seventh/ Havenga Avenue.”

He added that a number of requests have been submitted to the Johannesburg Roads Agency’s (JRA) Traffic Engineering Section for traffic counts to be done at these intersections and said, “The recent traffic and pedestrian counts at these intersections have warranted the conversion to four-way stops. These conversions have started and should be completed before the end of the week. Please apply caution around these intersections as initially there may be confusion.”
