Delay in sending out Roodepoort municipal accounts

Customers will be receiving their June 2020 statements late and in some cases after their usual due date

The City of Johannesburg would like to advise its customers that there is a city-wide delay in posting municipal accounts.

As a result, customers will be receiving their June 2020 statements late and in some cases after their usual due date.

Kgamanyane Maphologela, the Director: Communications and Stakeholder Relationships for Group Finance, said in a media statement, “We encourage customers to continue to pay their municipal accounts as per their normal monthly average consumption. No interest will be charged on late payments on current (30 days) accounts as a result of late billing.”

He added, “Customers whose finances have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and are unable to pay their rates should make payment arrangements in order to avoid penalties on overdue accounts.

They do not have to visit City’s offices as arrangements can be made via email by sending the required documents to the following email address where dedicated staff members will be ready to assist.

The email address is creditcontrol@joburg.org.za.

“The City would like to apologise to all its customers who have been adversely affected by these delays, and thank them for their understanding and cooperation.”
