The water outage affecting Lindhaven residents since yesterday, 16 June from about 10am, is being addressed by Johannesburg Water (JW).
Yesterday, the councillor for Ward 71, René Benjamin, posted on her Facebook page that, “JW has determined that there is an electrical fault with the pump at the Witpoortjie tower, and the electrical technician has been called to assess the problem. Please note that there is no way at present to provide a time of restoration.
Once the issue has been repaired it can take a few hours for the pump to produce enough pressure for proper water flow.”
According to JW’s Twitter page, technicians have been dispatched to repair the damage and get the water flowing again.

Please kindly note that the water outage is due to a 300mm diameter river crossing in South Road, Lindhaven. JRA is currently busy with the bridge and we decommissioned the 300mm line while they are working. ^J— Johannesburg Water (@JHBWater) June 17, 2020
