The Roodepoort Police Station is operational again after it was closed yesterday, 3 June, following a Covid-19 scare.

Yesterday, a message was posted on Horison Blockwatch’s Facebook page that read, “Roodepoort Police Station is under quarantine and closed following the identification of a person with Covid-19. The situation will be reassessed on Monday morning.”

The Record approached the Provincial Commissioner’s office for comment, but could not confirm if this was indeed the case. A photo was received of a notice placed on the door of the police station, signed by the station commander, Brigadier Zoleka Khuboni, confirming that the station would remain closed until further notice.

According to another post by the Horison Blockwatch, the station has undergone the decontamination process and was operational again.
