The City of Johannesburg Region C Primary Health Care mobile unit will continue it’s free Covid-19 screening at it’s original site outside Florida Square today, 16 April. The mobile unit will be in Plaza Road on the corner of 3rd Road, Florida.
The screening begins with a six point questionnaire and if those being screened answer ‘no’ to all these questions then no further action will be taken. If the individual being screened is deemed to be at risk then they will be moved to a separate section where their temperature and blood pressure is taken and a further medical survey is conducted. A fever is the strongest warning sign so if you have a fever and answer ‘yes’ to any of the below, please go to Plaza Road, Florida today or tomorrow to be screened.
– Have you recently had any of the following symptoms? Cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat or fever(temperature of 38 degrees Celsius or higher)
– Have you travelled to any country currently having (coronavirus infection) Covid-19 in the last 14 days?
– Have you had contact with any person who has travelled to any currently having coronavirus infection within the last 14 days?
– Have you been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with coronavirus infection within the last 14 days?
– Are you a health worker (including any person working in a health facility) who may have contact with a confirmed or possible case of coronavirus in the last 14 days?
– Have you been admitted with severe pneumonia of unknown etiology? (Etiology is defined as the cause, set of causes, or manner of causation of a disease or condition)
These are the exact questions that appear on the screening sheet for Covid-19 so if your answer to these questions in ‘no’, then please do not attend the screening. Time and resources are limited so please only make use of the mobile unit should you have sufficient reason to do so. Screening will be done from 9am to 3pm today and tomorrow with tomorrow’s location subject to change due to operational requirements.
