Loiterer questioned for walking around during lockdown

A man spotted wandering around the Strubens Valley area allegedly denied knowledge of the extensively publicised lockdown.

While one might assume the lockdown regulations reached every corner of the country, somehow the news went past some ears.

A man spotted wandering around the Strubens Valley area allegedly denied knowledge of the extensively publicised lockdown.

This man, understood to be a foreign national, was stopped by BCI Security when their controllers picked up his ‘dubious’ movement and dispatched a response vehicle.

“Our reaction team confronted the man and he claimed to be from Zimbabwe. The man was without any legal papers and claimed to be unaware of the coronavirus. Police was dispatched,” the BCI Facebook report read.

The 21-day lockdown protocol declared by the President prohibits any movement unless it’s deemed necessary i.e. for going grocery shopping, to hospital or to any other essential service centre.
