CLAW to continue with its services

CLAW confirmed that they will continue offering their services and urgently call on the community to support them, especially within the next few days as they prepare for the coming weeks.

During the hard times caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, sick animals are still flowing into Community Led Animal Welfare (CLAW) for assistance.

The many cases needing CLAW’s medical care are generally dog bites, babesia, parvo, anorexia and mange.

“We are also seeing an increase in animals being surrendered, and expect this to continue as things get worse. We cannot turn away these sick or surrendered dogs, however it does put enormous pressure on our clinic.

“We have implemented strict measures at the clinic to protect everyone, such as washing hands before entering and social distancing, along with hard-surface cleaning throughout the day,” said Cora Bailey from CLAW.

She confirmed that they will continue offering their services and urgently calls on the community to support them, especially within the next few days as they prepare for the coming weeks.

CLAW has also encouraged the community to offer their assistance towards CLAW’s wish list, which is as follows:

• Dog and cat pellets

• Tinned dog and cat food

• Bleach

• Dustbin bags

• Brooms, mops and buckets

• Old blankets and towels

• Rice and non-perishable food

Alternatively, if members of the public wish to support the good cause, they are encouraged to use the following banking details:

“Without your support we cannot continue our work to help the dogs and people of the poorer communities. Please help us,“ pleaded Cora.
