The security industry is one of the pivotal role players in the relentless fight against crime in the country, and if any client of a security service was uncertain about their role during lockdown, the answers have been provided.

The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) announced that all security companies will carry out their normal duties of inspection, as they also fall under essential services as peace officers.

“As Security is deemed an essential service you would need an Essential Service permit during the lockdown period in order to get to and from work,” the regulatory body stated.

They also announced that if a member’s certificate or card has expired during the lockdown period, it will still be deemed valid and the renewal can be done after the lockdown period.
