The buzzing and circling of helicopters over the Strubens Valley and Allen’s Nek area created an ominous atmosphere on the last morning before the looming lockdown on Thursday, 26 March.
The helicopters were attempting to track a courier vehicle that had been hijacked in Roodekrans. Dowry Security Reaction and Tactical Manger, Marcel Jonker, confirmed the description of the vehicles the thugs used in the incident. “They were in a white Toyota Yaris with a registration starting with LHX, and a grey Chevrolet hatchback,” he said.

The details surrounding the occupants of the two cars are unknown, but it has been confirmed that they used Wilgerood Road to access Christiaan de Wet Road where they were last seen.
