A pint for a pint community blood drive to help CLAW

Although the blood drive is over, CLAW still welcomes any donations from the community to help their furry friends.

On Saturday, 14 March the community supported the annual blood drive at AJ’s Pub in addition to supporting our very own Community Led Animal Welfare (CLAW).

Community members had the opportunity to donate a pint of blood in exchange for a pint of beer at AJ’s. Members lined up to donate blood at the South African National Blood Service tent and put on a brave face for a good cause, while others made their donation at the CLAW stall, trying to avoid the needle. AJ’s Pub and Euro Gourmet Butchery also made a generous donation to help all the animals in the community. Residents were able to donate essentials such as old blankets and pet food to CLAW.

An activity section was provided for the children to enjoy, while the adults enjoyed a well-deserved refreshment and browsed the various stalls.

CLAW still welcomes any donations from members to help their furry friends. If anyone would like to make a donation, contact Cora on 076 850 4466.
