The trauma that victims of gender-based violence endure can scar them for life.
While the road to recovery can be tough – especially for victims who have been placed at various places of safety – organisations such as Together We Can Make A Difference try to provide comfort to those on this sorrowful journey.
The first outreach by this Weltevreden Park-based non-profit organisation, founded by Paula Potgieter, benefited two identified safe havens.
On Saturday, 7 March, dedicated members and volunteers of the organisation packed 300 care kit bags for rape and abuse victims.
Paula said they packed 100 each for boys, girls and mature women.
She also said the packs will be distributed to victims at the Teddy Bear Clinic both in Parktown and Krugersdorp, plus the Thuthuzela rape crisis centres.
