JRA to implement extra measures for Doreen Road

In a bid to bolster visibility on Doreen Road and intensify the prohibition of trucks exceeding the five ton weight restriction, Ward 97 councillor Leah Knott indicated that the Joburg Roads Agency (JRA) will be implementing extra precautions to solve the problem.

“JRA has agreed that the Depot will replace two missing 5 ton restriction signs along Doreen Road, northerly direction, just off CR Swart Drive and Toermalyn Street,” she said.

She added that the request for a warning light between Ouklip and Belladonna Roads has been discussed with the Operations Manager and approved.

She added that JMPD Inspector George Wilhelm indicated that the relevant law enforcement regarding the tonnage restrictions is being done on a regular basis during off-peak hours.

Lastly, she thanked councillor Florence Roberts for attending the meeting during which these matters affecting both Wards 83 and 97 were discussed.
