West Rand Toastmasters practice upliftment

The West Rand Toastmasters used meeting 478 to inspire themselves and each other through their theme, 'I Am Enough.'

The West Rand Toastmasters used their meeting number 478 to discuss topics relating to their theme: I Am Enough.

During the uplifting and encouraging meeting on 20 February, the Toastmasters were prompted to shout out ‘I Am Enough’ several times.

The club’s Sergeant At Arms, Jeffrey Nkhwazi called the meeting to order before passing the gavel to Acting President, Thato Majela, who welcomed the guests.

Glen Campbell, the Grammarian for the evening, introduced the role players and presented the Word of the Day, Dagga, which can either be used to describe the mud that is used to build huts, or cannabis.

The three prepared speeches consisted of Alwyn Assa giving a lesson on being a good sales person, Jeffrey Nkhwazi covering pollution, and Bonny Matlala speaking about finishing what we start.

After the prepared speeches, the Evaluators looked back on the speeches while the other Toastmasters enjoyed a short adjournment.

The Table Topics were interesting as usual with five speakers randomly choosing subjects out of an envelope and speaking without any preparation. The Impromptu speeches were all about situations that each person might find him- or herself in and how they would respond.

The trophies for the evening were presented to Bonny (Best Prepared Speech), Glen (Best Contributor) and Tiffany Lee (Best Table Topic).
